Pencil Planner is an assignment-planning tool that helps students organize courses, assignments, due dates, and completion status. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information, including information accessed through Google services when you choose to connect a Google account.

Information stored on your device

Pencil Planner stores the courses, assignments, settings, and other information you enter in your browser’s local storage so the app can work on your device.

Google Drive sync

If you choose Sign in with Google, Pencil Planner requests permission to use the Google Drive app-data folder. The app uses that private folder to store a backup of your Pencil Planner data so you can sync it across devices. The app-data folder is private to your Google account and is not shared with other Pencil Planner users by the app.

Pencil Planner accesses only the data needed to find, create, update, and download its own private backup file in your Google Drive app-data folder. It does not read your ordinary Google Drive files.

Google Calendar sync

If you choose to use Calendar sync, Pencil Planner requests permission to create and update assignment events in the Google Calendar you select. It uses your assignment title, course, due date, completion status, and optional description to create or update those events. Calendar access is used only after you choose Sync now.

How information is used and shared

Pencil Planner uses your information only to provide the planning, backup, and optional calendar-sync features you request. The app does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with unrelated third parties. Pencil Planner does not operate a server that receives your assignment data.

Your choices

You can use Pencil Planner without Google sign-in. You can stop syncing by signing out in the app, revoke Pencil Planner’s access from your Google Account permissions, and remove local data through the app’s Clear all data option. You can delete synced calendar events in Google Calendar.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when Pencil Planner changes. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies. For questions about this policy, contact the Pencil Planner developer through the contact information made available with the app.
